How It Works
We provide a professionally
compered event, with a Large Screen, Projector and 8 DVDs each showing a single horse race plus all tickets.
Each race is on DVD in full colour and features 8 horses identified by number only with an English (not American) commentary.
People bet on the horses buy buying Tote tickets at say £1 each for the number horse they want. After the Tote has closed and the "betting" is complete a race DVD is selected by a member of the audience at random ensuring that the result could not be known beforehand.
Your guests can bet using real or fun money depending on the occasion. If it is a fundraising event then part of your profits would come from the tickets sold. Extra money is raised from the entrance fee, race sponsors, and selling the owners and trainers.
The Compere will explain how the betting works so that everyone understands. The excitement begins as the race runs and the cheering begins. It's as simple as that!
Running a Race Night just for FUN
When your intention is just to provide a great night out or for a Corporate Event then you can use Fun Money. Normally prizes are given to winners, with a Grand Prize for the most money won on the night.
Before the Night – The Race Card
Planning and preparation are the keys to raising money. It is crucial to your financial success that the basic preparation is done BEFORE the event. Follow the golden rule and you should already have more than enough money to cover our fee before the date. Then just let our Compere run the night to generate excitement and maximise income.
For a fund raising event the Race Card is the prime source of income. Used properly it can cover the cost of your event and more. We provide a sample which can be copied and used or you can design your own. 8 races with 8 horses per race is standard.
You should sell the horses on the race card before the evening for say £3 per horse or include one with each admission fee. Each winning owner needs a prize so you either fund this from your race card sales or get each race sponsored. A local firm or shop should be willing to donate £15-20. In return you name the race accordingly for their publicity e.g. "The Fred Bloggs Cup".
The Venue
You need enough room to allow an informal layout and to ensure people can move about easily, but with a good view of the Video Screen. The Tote and Payout desk should be at the BACK of the room, and you must allow enough space for the Video Projector and the Screen at the front.
